CallManager Configuration
Services hosted on this machine may be accessed from phones on your CallManager, assuming your phones have access to the Internet.
To configure your CallManager, just follow these steps.
Step 1
First, from the CallManager administrative interface, go to the Cisco IP Phone Services menu, found under Feature, as shown here.

Step 2
Now, create a new service definition. This is done once as the system administrator, and allows your users to subscribe to, or choose and access, this service.
The Service Name is what will appear to users on the 7960 phones when they press the services button.
The Service Description is what users will see when they are setting up a subscription to the servince.
The Service URL is how the phone will locate the service.
Once you have completed this definition, press Insert and the service definition will appear on the left hand column, indicating that it is available for users.

Step 3
Next, login as a user defined to the CallManager that has a phone associated with him/her.

Step 4
Once you successfully login, if the user is associated with more than one device, you must choose which device to manage. In this case, user steinhau is associated with 3 devices.

Step 5
Next, choose Configure your IP Phone Services.

Step 6
Now, choose the service you're interested in seeing and press Continue.

Step 7
Once you click Subscribe, the service will appear on the Services menu.

Configuring the RSS Viewer service
The process for setting up the service which allows you to view RSS feeds from your IP Phones is very similar. You will create a new service definition, as described in Step 1 above, but it will be set up differently.
Step 1
Create the new service definition.
For the RSS Viewer
service, enter: http://phone-xml.berbee.com/rss/items.php
Once you have completed this definition, press Insert and the service definition will appear on the left hand column, indicating that it is available for users.

Step 2
This service will also need a parameter in order to operate. Click the "New" button in the Service Parameter Information section, and create a required parameter named "url" as shown:

Step 3
Insert and Close the new parameter definition. You can then proceed to subscribe one or more phones to this new service, as described in Steps 3 and on, above. When you subscribe, you'll need to fill in the URL of the RSS feed you want to display for the subscription, and you'll want to name the subscription to match the feed, so users will know what they're choosing.
A single phone can be subscribed to the same service multiple times with different RSS feed URLs, to access different news summaries.
You can find RSS feed addresses by checking the documentation of news sites
in which you're interested. For example, CNN's RSS feeds are listed at http://www.cnn.com/services/rss/ and
the "Top Stories" feed we demonstrate on our free services menu is:
http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss
Before setting up a new feed, we'd recommend making sure that the URL you want to try delivers properly formatted RSS. We found an RSS feed validator that seems very helpful for this.
