Proxy Configuration

IP phones, by themselves, cannot access content via a proxy server or a proxy server requiring authentication. The program here will run on a Windows NT/2000/95 PC machine.

To install:

1. Make sure your target environment has Internet Explorer loaded on it and can contact the Internet.

2. Copy xmlproxy.exe to your target environment

3. Start the proxy server by launching xmlproxy.exe

4. When prompted, enter the IP address of the local PC

5. Configure your XML services to use the proxy server. Where your service URL was http://phone-xml.berbee.com/menu.xml, you would now use http://5.5.5.5:8080/phone-xml.berbee.com/menu.xml, where 5.5.5.5 is the IP address of the server you're installing xmlproxy on.

Compatibility notes:
  1. This server will work with any proxy server that Internet Explorer works with.
  2. If your proxy server requires a domain as part of the authentication process, you must run xmlproxy.exe from a PC that is a member of the same domain as the proxy.
